African Writers Centre (AWC) is a body of prolific and passionate writers, editors and communicators formed to advance the art of writing and related fields for human capacity and business development.

 

AWC has a resource faculty comprising cream of creative minds that develop premium services for individuals and organisations to leverage on and broaden their horizons for successful operations.

Vision

To become an independent, influential platform for remolding and supporting indigenous Africans through quality content, information and robust communication to optimize their potentials.

Mission Statement

To function in traditional, classical methods to develop content and advance information and communications for human capacity and business development in all spheres of lives of Africans.

AMAH ALPHONSUS AMAONYE

Amah A. Amah as he is called in the pen profession acquired his Media and Journalism training at Times
Journalism Institute, Lagos, Nigeria, where he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism in the year 2002.
He had earlier acquired a B.Sc. Degree in University of Calabar, Nigeria in 1996. He also hastwo Masters Degrees
from University of Lagos and presently writing his thesis for award of a Ph.D in the same University.
He started his career in Journalism at the dawn of the millennium in the year 2000 with Global Maritime &
Aviation Journal, x-raying Shipping & Freight, Commerce, Import, Export and Overall Economy. Having worked
as for three years in the Organisation as Editorial Executive with tasks of events coverage and news reporting,
proof reading and editing, as well as supervision of page planning, he was elevated to the rank of Managing
Editor.
Amah was instrumental to the establishment of Freightwatch Publications of African Maritime Business Consults
(AMBC) and worked as its Editor-in-Chief from 2005 to 2015. He was the initiator and organizer of Maritime
Round Table (MAROUT) series and other educational and capacity building programmes in the maritime and
shipping industry. He also consults and handles media relations for many organisations.
In 2015, Amah founded African Writers Centre (AWC), a non-governmental Organisation dedicated to support
and promotions of writing, with special bias for Africa. He was appointed the AWC Director General/ Editor-inChief by the Board of the AWC, anchoring tasks like news monitoring and publications, events organizing and
rapporteur services, capacity building programmes in writing, reporting and public relations, consulting and thirdparty publishing for corporate organizations.
Amah is a multi-discipline researcher, consultant and a gifted writer.
